How to Use the CHP calculator.
You are already considering a CHP unit; you will have the following data:

Use the sliders to select:

• an assumed efficiency of the existing hot water boiler of the site
• the expected annual operating hours of the CHP

You can also use the sliders to see the sensitivity of the results to:

• predicted operating hours
• boiler efficiency
• changes in energy prices

Remember:
If the CHP efficiency is more than 100% (or probably even 90%) the input data is wrong! The CHP heat and electricity must be fully used for maximum efficiency. Therefore if your current energy bills are less than the predicted savings, the CHP unit is too big! If you want to look at other units in the same situation, just change the data.
