Background:
- Complaints received from residents and local businesses due to inconvenient and unsafe parking by commuters and non-residents
- Due to displacement caused by implementation of previous schemes, further phases were implemented
Project Description:
The services provided as part of this project included:
- Survey of existing waiting restrictions and on-site features required to be known in order to design waiting restrictions and signing
- Design of waiting restrictions and signing locations to reduce inconsiderate parking by non-residents and unsafe parking by all, such as on bends
- Consultation process, including, area wide leaflet and questionnaire dispersal and Public Exhibition to gain views of local residents and businesses
- Orders and Schedules produced to accompany CPZ proposals
- Production of Bill of Quantities and tender documentation for undertaking lining and signing works
- Supervision of works carried out by signing and lining contractor
Benefits:
- Parked car congestion within residential areas outside of Guildford significantly reduced.
- Dangerous parking reduced
