ENERGY STATEMENTS - ENERGY EFFICIENCY & CHP - RENEWABLE ENERGY

Energy Statements
The Energy Statement is now an integral part of your planning application. This must demonstrate how your development will reduce its carbon emissions by including Low & Zero Carbon Technologies (LZCT). Initially a 10% target reduction in carbon emissions was required, now many Local Planning Authorities are setting a challenging 20% carbon reduction. Our Sustainable Energy Assessments have successfully supported a number of diverse Planning Applications.
Energy Efficiency
To minimise the impact of renewable energy on a new development, the most cost effective way to reduce carbon emissions is by energy efficiency. As an independent energy specialist we would identify a range of measures and, using SBEM Building Energy Modelling Software when appropriate, accurately model and substantiate the energy profile of the proposed development.
Combined Heat & Power
Considering the feasibility of CHP has numerous benefits. It can significantly reduce the capital investment cost required to meet the carbon reduction target, score valuable points as part of the Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment and meet the Part L requirement of the Building Regs. We have extensive experience of the successful application of CHP and Tri-generation, i.e. heating and cooling.
Renewable Energy
Solar thermal panels, photo voltaic, ground source heating, biomass, biofuel, and wind turbines. From the maze of existing and emerging renewable technologies we would identify the most practical and cost effective renewable solution to meet the energy demand profile of your development.

Design Advice
Full design CSH Assessments
Post Construction CSH Assessment

With the increased targets for social housing and the requirements of local planning authorities, a development must often achieve Code level 3 for planning consent or even Level 4 to obtain project funding. Our assessors are able to provide full Design and Post Construction Assessments under the Code for Sustainable Homes. In addition we offer preliminary cost effective design review advice which would guide the designer to achieve the maximum code level for a specific development.
